Steven Shik is a Detroit based illustrator and artist who gains inspiration from his 20 plus years in the restaurant industry and the wonderful world of comics. His work deals heavily with identity and relationships and utilizes colors and textures to explore the world around us.

The idea of expectations is followed by the looming presence of change. These changes can be sudden, small, incremental and massive. They are unexpected, but hardly unfamiliar.
As the end of the year quickly approaches, Planned Obsolescence explores the state of vulnerability and uncertainty by re-contextualizing some of these feelings through art.
