Marlo Broughton is a painter, muralist, and designer native to Detroit. While he began as a graffiti artist, he then moved onto acrylic paintings and large scale murals. In addition Marlo does design work for clothing brands, musical artists , and other branding. Marlo’s works can be found scattered across the city, including a recent mural installation at the Monroe Street Midway downtown and pieces at Eastern Market but his talent isn’t limited to the states, he also has works as far out as Istanbul. Using non-local color palletes to emphasize the surreality of the Black experience, his portraits are deeply affecting. On February 4th Marlo will be joining us in our gallery space to open up his latest art show. We’ll be hanging out, listening to good music, and drinking beer. Come through and enjoy some great art!
